My name is Sinéad Catherine Halpin and I have been riding horses since I was 5. I got my first horse when I was 7. I saved up my own money for him. He might not have been much to anybody else but to me he was the greatest horse ever.

I started competing in hunter/jumpers but soon discovered the sport of Three-Day Eventing.

My trainers have included:

  • Boo Major (current Head Coach of the University of South Carolina Equestrian Team)
  • Stuart Black (Canadian Olympic Team Rider)
  • Mary Werning (Dessage Medalist)
  • Pam Ordstrom (Hunter Champion)
  • And I have taken clinics with Bruce Davidson, George Morris, Phyllis Dawson, Jane Savoy and Peter Grey.

My past jobs have included waitressing, galloping for Wavertree Stables (Keiran Dunn, Ocala, Fla), Hickory Tree Farm (Danett Nanez, Middleburg, Va.), Barbara Graham Training Stables (Middleburg, Va.), Dave Markgraph Training Stables (Ocala, Fla.), Webster Training Center (Ocala, Fla.) and working part-time at the OCET Training Center in Ocala, Fla. with Karen and David O'Connor.

Now I am 22. I live in The Plains, Virginia from April through December and in Ocala, Florida from January through March. Currently, I train with Karen and David O'Connor. I am a trainer for Equine Intermediaries, a company that buys, trains and sells young imported horses with talent for upper level eventing. Also, I train and sell horses for my own clientel.
